Poland and the United States:
Political and Economic Partners in the New Era
Zbigniew Kubacki, Minister Counselor-Head of the Economic & Commercial
Section, Embassy of Poland, Washington, D.C.
Zbigniew Kubacki will first provide an overview of Poland's economic and political transformation after
the collapse of communism.
Poland is a new member of the European Union, and its membership has supported important economic advances in Poland. Mr. Kubacki will discuss changes that this has brought about both in Poland and in its relations with other EU nations, the effect on Poland's economy and issues of national security.
He will also address recent political issues arising in his country, the effects of the new mobility of Polish workers throughout the EU and the current economic and political relations between the U.S. and Poland.
